THE TRX SUMMER SESSION

When the Weights Feel Too Heavy in July heat, the Straps Step Up

There’s a point every summer — usually sometime in July — when the gym feels hotter and the idea of loading plates onto a barbell becomes strangely unappealing. Muscles feel sluggish, sweat arrives early, and even the most committed lifters start looking for smarter ways to train.

That’s exactly where the TRX Suspension Trainer comes into its own.

At Office Gym Club Cornwall, our TRX kits are permanently set up both in the main gym and the studio, ready for anyone who wants a brutally effective workout without the heat‑induced fatigue of heavy weights. Whether you’re chasing conditioning, strength, or just a fresh challenge, this session delivers everything you need using nothing more than your bodyweight and a pair of straps.

This is summer training done properly — sharp, efficient, and surprisingly savage.

THE WARM‑UP CIRCUIT

3 rounds — 10–15 reps each — no rest

  • TRX Squat Row

  • TRX Mid Row

  • TRX Single‑Leg Pistol Squat

This sequence wakes up your legs, back, and balance without draining your energy. It’s the perfect primer for what’s coming next.

ROUND ONE — STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

3 rounds — 6–10 reps — no rest

  • TRX Lunge

  • TRX Low Row

  • TRX Atomic Push‑Up

This is where the straps start to bite. Expect your heart rate to climb and your core to switch on as you move seamlessly from lower‑body strength to upper‑body pulling and then straight into a floor‑based power movement.

ROUND TWO — CORE & UPPER BODY

3 rounds — 5 reps — no rest

  • TRX Standing Rollout

  • TRX Push‑Up

  • TRX Hamstring Curl

  • TRX Chest Fly

This round is all about control. The rollout challenges your midline, the push‑up keeps your chest and triceps honest, the hamstring curl hits the posterior chain, and the fly finishes the upper body with a deep stretch and squeeze.

This section is fast, athletic, and perfect for anyone who wants a conditioning hit without touching a barbell.
